THE #1 GUIDE TO THE BENEFITS OF A PASSIVHAUS DREAM HOMETM
The term Passivhaus refers to a German method of designing a very energy efficient and comfortable Eco Home. Developed by German Physicist Dr Wolfgang Feist. The method aims to ensure that predictable results to the performance of the property are achieved by meticulous design, rather than by accident. Most Eco properties are designed without this level of detail, and as a result the super-insulated properties do not perform properly in terms of energy efficiency, due to poor design, or lack of proper scrutiny of the build on site. They also prone to unpleasant consequences like extreme overheating, or poor ventilation as heat becomes trapped in, and is by heat from the sun.
Most of our customers are now very concerned about the environment and how they may do their bit to reduce their own impact on that. Of course there are other priorities to consider too, however when choosing a new property there is a big opportunity to tackle these concerns head on, and secure a fantastic and comfortable new property for your family.
If you are interested in developing property for sale or rent, the same is true. Passivhaus property has been shown to generate more demand among environmentally motivated buyers, and tenants are less likely to end up in fuel poverty.
The method can also be used to retrofit in existing properties, and to help to tackle the huge problem we have with very inefficient housing stock in the UK
Our Director and Certified Passivhaus Designer, James Sizer, has written this simple guide which describes how this method of low energy design and construction could be right for you. The best thing is that the guide is ABSOLUTELY FREE to download, and it will get you off to a great start on your journey toward developing a great environmentally sound home or development project.
The SA System, and what people say about it.
Completing this questionnaire is just a first step along a defined path to success. We developed our unique system a few years ago after identifying the trend toward projects going over time and over budget in the industry. We've had some great feedback about the benefits it has had for some of our customers. We'd love to share with you!

In Brundall
"We've taken some time to reflect on the feasibility report you supplied, and have looked into our finances. After initially feeling we could not continue with the project, we have realised that we've really enjoyed the process, and would like to explore further options of how we can continue this journey"
Mr S (Head)
Local School
"The document you produced was helpful in convincing the Local Authority of our seriousness and Need. Best wishes and thank you for your continued support of the school"

SA Architectural Services were recommended to us by a friend. From excellent design ideas to our final certification - we received an excellent, professional and friendly service. Our builder was really pleased with the detailed designs, which helped enormously as they left no guesswork, and the service proved invaluable in terms of getting the high specification and finish we were after.
We've developed this and many other great resources to help our clients with the early stages of Listed Building project planning. We believe that success and expectations can only be achieved when a project is properly planned. Rushing straight into design without a clear understanding of legislation, and typical approaches to design in this historic context, will just lead to problems later on.

Wed love it if you would contact us for a free project review see how, and some other FAQ's below:
No, not normally. We will of course visit later on in the process, but our initial consultation takes place by telephone, videoconference or office visit. The reason for this is simple, until we've decided that the project is a good fit, and we are the right company to take it on for you, this would be of little benefit to either of us. You can make a free 30 minute appointment by calling 01603 713528, or by emailing to hello@sastudio.co.uk.
We do not quote without all the information in place. The process is now a lot more complicated than design plans alone, so we need to fully assess the potential, and work involved in making applications, and design detailing before we quote. Typically the first stage will involve a paid detailed study of the site and your options before we start designing. This has the benefit of keeping costs down before the potential of the site is properly explored. In medical terms we do not rush into surgery before making a proper diagnosis!
Yes we can, but we only select a few projects each year. Typically we build or refurbish 3-5 properties a year, and these must fit with our aspirations in terms of quality and integrity of finish. If you are interested in a Design and build solution, contact us for an initial consultation on 01603 713528 and we'll let you know when we may have capacity if your project is of interest.
